Vientiane (VNA) – PathetLao Daily, a publication of the Laos News Agency (KPL), front-paged an editorial on the close relationship shared between the KPL and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of the latter’s 76th founding anniversary (September 15).

The article highlighted that during the 76 years, under the direct leadership of the Vietnamese Party and State, the VNA has developed and taken the lead in the political-ideological front, effectively implementing its important task of being the top information source of the nation.

In 1955, VNA reporters worked in Samnua district in the Lao northern province of Huaphanh – the base of Lao revolutionary forces, it said. They run news that fully reflected the struggle on the political, military and diplomatic fronts as well as socio-economic and cultural affairs in the area, the article added.

Over the past many years, VNA officials and experts have continued to be sent to work in Laos to stand side by side and join hands with Lao officials, considering the Lao revolution as their important task.

According to the author, established in January 6, 1968, the KPL has always received sincere, enthusiastic and wholehearted support from VNA reporters. The two news agencies share a close relationship that is rare in the world, with the KPL assisted by the VNA in terms of technical infrastructure and human resources building.

At a new stage in the cause of national defense, construction and development, the VNA and KPL have continued to stand side by side in carrying out their political tasks; supporting each other in communications works regarding policies and laws of their Parties, States and Governments; reflecting the wishes and aspirations of the peoples of the two countries; and promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The editorial concluded that the relationship between the two agencies, a rare exemplary model, is close and sincere as it experienced many challenges and difficulties in the past time. It is a part of the Vietnam – Laos friendship and solidarity./.
