Lao President awarded Vietnam’s honorary doctorate

The National Economics University ( NEU ) of Vietnam presented an honorary doctoral degree to the President of Laos Chummaly Saynhasone at a ceremony in Vientiane on August 28.

The presidentwas honoured for the contributions he has made to the development ofeducation-training and science-technology and the comprehensivecooperation between the two parties and nations in general.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, President Chummaly Saynhasone thankedVietnam for its great support for Laos in recent times, sayingthat he feels honored to receive the honorary degree from one of themost prestigious universities in Vietnam.

The NEU began to train officials for Laos from the 1963-1964 academic year.

Apart from training Lao students through cooperation programmesbetween the two governments, the university has also cooperated with theLao side to hold many seminars addressing necessary issues to help thecause of national development in Laos.

The cooperation contributes to strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.-VNA

Personnel consolidation carried out at the NA's 10th session helps ensure continuous, unified, effective, and efficient leadership of the state apparatus; guarantee smooth and uninterrupted direction and governance; and prevent any leadership gaps in critical areas. All positions elected or approved by the legislature meet the key criteria required within the organisational structure.
