Laos’ national art troupe artists singing and dancing in praise of Laos-Vietnam special solidarity made an enthralling start for a Laos Culture Week event beginning in Ho Chi Minh City on December 2.

Co-organised by the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Culture and Information, the Laos Culture Week forms part of activities to celebrate the 39 th anniversary of Laos’ Liberation Day (December 2, 1975-2014).
The artists sang songs in Lao and Vietnamese languages to extol the late President Ho Chi Minh and the special ties between the two countries in addition to performances to reflect Lao people’s daily practices and traditional customs.

At the opening ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Buangan Xaphuvong expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for immense assistance and collaboration in wartime as well as in the current national development.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai spoke of the further cooperation in culture and tourism between the two countries.

The event is running to December 7 in other southern provinces of Hau Giang and Vinh Long.-VNA
