Hanoi (VNA) – Legislators debated the draft revised Law on Railway during a plenary session in Hanoi on May 30 under the chair of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
After hearing a report on adjustments made to the railway bill based on received opinions, the law-makers looked into contentious contents of the document.
They focused on policies for railway development and the mobilization of resources for the work; Vietnam’s railway system; investment in the construction, management and maintenance of railways; railway business; punishments against violations in the railway sector; and responsibility of organisations and individuals for railway accidents.
In the afternoon, the legislators discussed in groups the draft revised Law on Public Asset Management and the draft amended Law on Complaints.
They are scheduled to give opinions to the draft revised Law on State Compensation Liability on May 31 morning.
During the afternoon session, they will scrutinise the law and ordinance building programme for 2018 and the adjustment of the 2017 law and ordinance building programme. They will also mull over the legislature’s projected supervisory activities in 2018.-VNA
