Mong people’s panpipes in harmony at festival

The Mong ethnic minority people in the north held their first ever panpipe festival in Dong Van district, the mountainous province of Ha Giang on Aug. 21 and 22.
The Mong ethnic minority people in the north held their first everpanpipe festival in Dong Van district, the mountainous province ofHa Giang on Aug. 21 and 22.

About 300 local peopleand artists performed at the event, which figured as one of a series ofactivities marking the 120th founding anniversary of Ha Giang province.

Theevent was aimed at raising Mong young people’s awareness of the need topreserve panpipe and its musical genre as part of their traditionalcultural values.

The festival also coincided with other culturaland tourist activities to promote landscapes in the province, especiallythe Dong Van Stone Plateau.

Last year, the Dong VanStone Plateau was recognised as the first geopark in Vietnam and thesecond in Southeast Asia by the Global Network of National Geoparks(GGN). It covers a total area of nearly 2,400 sq.m and houses 34 percentof the province’s population./.

2025 Vietnam Culture Festival held in Osaka

Visitors enjoy Thai environment, lifestyle at Hanoi festival

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts. They also enjoyed traditional dances from many regions of Thailand, tried making Khanom Krok coconut cakes and painting patterns on silk, among other activities.
