Phu Tho (VNA) – An art programme named 'Colours of Land of Ancestors Tourism - Phu Tho 2025' and a tourism promotion programme themed “Phu Tho – Travel to Love” opened in the northern midland province of Phu Tho on April 3 evening.
These are among a series of activities of the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day Festival and the Culture and Tourism Week of Ancestral Land for the Year of the Snake, which are taking place from March 29 to April 7 (the first to the 10th day of the third lunar month), aiming to pay tribute to the ancestors and forefathers who founded and defended the nation.
They attracted the participation of nearly 70 units and individuals from Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc, and Tuyen Quang provinces, and Hanoi capital city.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Trong Tan expressed his hope that these activities will contribute to widely promoting the image of a "safe - friendly - attractive" Phu Tho, with diverse tourist destinations, a wide range of tourism products and services, and attractive tour packages, to the public and visitors.
He directed the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with relevant sectors, to focus on promoting tourism activities, aiming for professionalism, innovation, and creativity to continuously offer higher-quality tourism products for both locals and visitors.
Other activities within the frameworks of the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day Festival and the Culture and Tourism Week of Ancestral Land, are the Phu Tho 2025 Trade Fair and an OCOP product exhibition, the 'Phu Tho - Land of Ancestors' photography exhibition, a banh chung (square sticky rice cake) and banh day (round glutinous rice cake) making contest, folk music performances, and various recognised intangible cultural heritage displays such as xoan singing, chau van (Vietnamese spiritual singing), quan ho (love duet) and cheo (Vietnamese traditional opera) singing./.
