- Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala has arrived in Hanoi, beginning an official visit to Vietnam from April 20 to 22 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh.

- The “fishing ban” imposed by China in the East Sea violates Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) as well as its sovereignty rights and jurisdiction over the waters and exclusive economic zone defined in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, Foreign Ministry's vice spokesperson Doan Khac Viet stated on April 20.
