- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam held talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh during his state visit to Mongolia on September 30.

Both leaders reached a consensus on major directions and specific measures to realise high-level agreements, with national defence-security cooperation identified as a key pillar, thus contributing to elevating bilateral ties to a level that matches the new partnership framework, and reflects the global and regional context. - Vietnam and Mongolia issued a joint statement on the establishment of the comprehensive partnership during a state visit by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam on September 30 - October 1.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 30 asked competent ministries, sectors, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang city to clearly define the scope and operating model of regional and international financial centres to be established in Vietnam.

He made the statement while chairing a meeting between the permanent cabinet members and the steering committee for developing the project on regional and international financial centres. - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with voters of the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang on September 30 ahead of the 15th NA’s 8th session.

Man revealed that during its 8th session, scheduled to open on October 21 and last until November 30, the NA will consider several important bills, including the draft law amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on Health Insurance. - An economist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has emphasised the need to strengthen the resilience of the Vietnamese economy against natural disasters given the devastating consequences of Typhoon Yagi, the strongest to hit Vietnam in decades, and its aftermath.
