– General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 29 for visiting Executive Vice President of Venezuela and member of the Political Bureau of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Delcy Rodriguez Gomez.

Lam spoke highly of the discussions and talks between Rodriguez Gomez and President Luong Cuong and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, believing that her visit would further strengthen the relations between the two Parties and two countries. Read full story

- Vietnam always attaches importance to developing relations with its traditional friends in Latin America, including Venezuela, State President Luong Cuong told Executive Vice President and Minister of Oil of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez Gomez at a reception for the latter in Hanoi on October 29.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the host Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh on October 29 (local time), as part of his visit to attend the eighth Future Investment Initiative (FII) Summit and working trip to Saudi Arabia.

– The 4th theoretical workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the French Communist Party (PCF) was held in Hanoi on October 29 under the theme of “Human security in a changing world and the practice of response policies of Vietnam and France".

– A get-together was held in Hanoi on October 29 to mark the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam’s volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos (October 30, 1949 - 2024).

The event drew General Phan Van Giang, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence of Vietnam; General Chansamone Chanyalath, member of the Politburo of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Laos; and Major General Huynh Dac Huong, head of the national liaison board for former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts in Laos; as well as former volunteer soldiers and experts. – A high-level delegation of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, led by Minister General Luong Tam Quang, paid working visits to Spain and Germany from October 22 to 29, at the invitation of law enforcement agencies of the host countries.

In Spain, Quang met with Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) Enrique Fernando Santiago Romero, who expressed his delight at Vietnam’s recent socio-economic development and party-building achievements. Read full story

- Deputy Secretary of Strategy, Policy, and Industry at the Australian Department of Defence Hugh Jeffrey on October 29 hailed the strides in defence cooperation between his country and Vietnam since they upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March.

At a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Hung Tam, Jeffrey said Vietnam's sending a naval ship to the Kakadu Exercise 2024 in Darwin for the first time demonstrates the growing strategic cooperation and trust between the two countries' defence forces./. Read full story
