– The strategy for 2026–2030 must continue to ensure progress and equity in equal access to finance and credit for all groups, leaving no one behind in the development process, particularly those in rural, remote, mountainous, border, and island areas; poor households, students, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, business households, women, vulnerable groups and ethnic minorities, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
While chairing the third meeting of the National Steering Committee for Financial Inclusion in Hanoi on February 24 to review the 2020-2025 national financial inclusion strategy and oversee preparations for the next phase, PM Chinh, who is also its head, asked the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to work closely with the Government Office to incorporate feedback, finalise the 2026-2030 draft, and submit it to him for issuance. – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed the health sector to avoid causing inconveniences to patients and exhaust every possible way for saving lives, no matter how slim the chance.
Speaking at a February 24 meeting in Hanoi with leading scientists in the field and directors of central hospitals on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27), PM Chinh affirmed that the sector’s legacy has always been tied to the pioneering role of its intellectual workforce. – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on February 24 attended a ceremony launching a book series of laws adopted at the 10th session of the 15th NA, urging a strong overhaul of communications on political and legal publications
Addressing the ceremony, the top legislator said the publication of the book collection concretises the principle that “laws must go one step ahead, paving the way for innovation, with the people’s lives and interests serving as the yardstick for policymaking.” Read full story
– Special Envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam, Politburo member, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, held separate meetings in Moscow on February 24 with Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party, and Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, to brief them on the outcomes of the CPV’s 14th National Congress.
The foreign minister affirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, as well as relations with the two parties. – Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has requested ministries, agencies, and localities to maintain rigorous review of the fight against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, not only in terms of administrative sanctions but also through inspections that verify the full delivery of directives issued by the Government, the PM, and the Steering Committee on Combating IUU Fishing.
Chairing the committee’s 31st meeting in Hanoi on February 24, which virtually connected with 22 coastal localities, Ha stressed the urgency of fixing inconsistencies and gaps in data across different systems.
