- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith co-chaired a conference in Vientiane on February 5 on outcomes of the CPV’s 14th National Congress, on the occasion of the former’s state visit to Laos.

The top Vietnamese Party leader said he was pleased to share with Lao Party and State leaders the key outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress, noting that the Congress was a great success, marking a major milestone in the 96-year history of the CPV as well as in the millennia-long historical and cultural legacy of Vietnam. NA Chairman Man congratulated the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on the great success of its 12th National Congress, affirming that the Congress marked an important milestone demonstrating the Party’s determination to follow the renewal policy, with clear directions, goals, and tasks for national construction and development in the new period. - Building on a record-high budget revenue performance in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City has set a more ambitious target of nearly 1 quadrillion VND (38.5 trillion USD) in State budget revenue in 2026.

According to the municipal Department of Finance, total State budget revenue collected in the city in January 2026 reached an estimated 105.082 trillion VND, equivalent to about 13% of the annual estimate and up more than 10% year on year./. Read full story

Vietnam, Italy agree on new cooperation directions

Both sides agreed to facilitate market access for key export products, and prioritise cooperation in investment attraction and technology transfer in emerging and strategic sectors such as new energy, renewable energy and automation, while continuing to strengthen existing cooperation in textiles, footwear, climate change response, electronics, culture and tourism.
