- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam on February 2 received Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, who is visiting Vietnam as special envoy of the Communist Party and the State of Cuba.

Welcoming the special envoy shortly after the CPV’s 14th National Congress, General Secretary Lam affirmed that the dispatch of a high-ranking special envoy by the Cuban leadership on this occasion demonstrates the special importance attached by Cuba, as well as the close-knit, faithful, pure and exemplary relationship between the two Parties, States and peoples. - State President Luong Cuong visited and extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi on February 2.

PM Chinh welcomed and highly appreciated the visit by the Cuban special envoy, which took place shortly after the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi in Hanoi on February 2, within the framework of the latter’s official visit to Vietnam from February 2–5.

Welcoming the Jordanian Speaker, NA Chairman Man stressed that the visit took place shortly after the official visit to Vietnam by King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, reflecting Jordan’s strong determination to promoting friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, including parliamentary collaboration. - Party diplomacy serves as the key political foundation guiding the overall Vietnam-Cuba relationship, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, reaffirmed at their talks in Hanoi on February 2.

At the outset of the talks, Trung briefed the Cuban side on major outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV). In response, Rodríguez Parrilla, who is visiting Vietnam from February 1-3 as special envoy of the Communist Party and State of Cuba, affirmed that the success of the CPV’s 14th congress was not only a victory for the Vietnamese people, but also a great source of encouragement and a valuable lesson for the Communist Party and people of Cuba in their cause of national construction and defence. - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam’s upcoming state visit to Laos reaffirms the high level of political trust and Vietnam’s consistent policy of always giving top priority to the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between the two countries, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam.

The visit, which will take place on February 5, will be the first foreign trip by General Secretary Lam in 2026 and his first foreign visit after he was re-elected as General Secretary of the 14th National Congress of the CPV. It will make him the first state guest welcomed by the Party, State, and people of Laos since the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP). Read full story
