Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the National Assembly (NA) and Chairman of the NA Office Le Quang Manh on February 2 held a working session with Secretary General of the Jordanian House of Representatives Awwad A. O. Alghuwairi, who is accompanying Speaker Mazen Turki El Qadi during his current visit to Vietnam.

Both sides expressed their pleasure at the recent talks between NA Chairman Tran Thanh Manh and Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi, as well as the successful signing of the cooperation agreement between the two legislative bodies.

Manh noted that the talks provided an opportunity to exchange orientations and identify potential areas of cooperation between the NA Office and the Office of the Jordanian House of Representatives in the coming period.

Alghuwairi said he hopes the two sides will closely coordinate to effectively and substantively advise on and support the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the two legislatures.

Agreeing with Alghuwairi, Manh proposed that the two sides strengthen coordination to ensure thorough and effective arrangements for high-level and working-level parliamentary visits, enhance cooperation in advisory and support work for bilateral and multilateral parliamentary activities, increase exchanges between the two parliamentary offices, share experience in building a contingent of officials and staff capable of meeting assigned political tasks, and coordinate and support each other at international forums such as the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP).

The Jordanian official underscored the need to further intensify delegation exchanges and improve advisory and support efficiency for the two legislatures, thereby contributing to stronger cooperation between the NA and the Jordanian lower house in the time to come./.
