Parliamentary Diplomacy

Together with Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy, it has created a combined strength for Vietnam’s professional and modern diplomacy; contributed to enhancing the country’s position in the international arena and promoting rapid and sustainable development, firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and interests, and consolidating a comprehensive and solid legal foundation for deep international integration.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on National Defence, Security and External Relations Nguyen Manh Tien has proposed that Germany actively support and accelerate the Federal Parliament’s ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) at the earliest possible time, turning it into a true symbol of the long-term and sustainable partnership between the EU and Vietnam.

The visit comes as the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950 – 2025) and just five months after Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas’s visit to Vietnam in May.

Parliamentary diplomacy has emerged as a crucial component in the country’s overall foreign policy framework, complementing the Party's external relations and the State's diplomacy. This coordination has created the synergy for Vietnam's modern diplomacy and promoted the country's stature in the international arena, stated the NA leader.

The visit demonstrates a strong commitment to deepening the two sides’ friendship and cooperation, particularly between their legislative bodies, and is expected to generate fresh momentum for joint work in areas such as economy, trade, investment, tourism, and education – training.

Ties between the France – Vietnam and Vietnam – France parliamentary friendship groups are grounded in sincere collaboration, now spanning critical areas such as healthcare, climate change, culture, local governance, energy, and Francophonie initiatives.

The robust relationship between Vietnam and Mexico has expanded across multiple areas, from politics and economy to cultural diplomacy and been reflected through mutual support at international forums like the UN and the Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation, and multilateral parliamentary platforms.

The upcoming official visit to Singapore by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, starting December 1, is to take place at a very important time, as Vietnam is entering the "era of nation’s rise" and Singapore is creating additional value by promoting its strengths through an investment cooperation strategy.

Parliamentary diplomacy is an important link in the cooperation between France and Vietnam, said President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group (FVFPG) Anne Le Hénanff.
