- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked Japan's Marubeni Corporation to expand operations in Vietnam, particularly in energy, including gas-fired and offshore wind power.

This is to support Vietnam’s economic growth, bolster its artificial intelligence and big data infrastructure, and facilitate electricity exports to other ASEAN nations, the PM told Masayuki Omoto, CEO of Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s leading investment and trading conglomerates with a 80-year track record in Vietnam, during their meeting in Hanoi on July 14. - More than 200 official delegates, including more than 90% trained abroad and currently working in 20 countries and territories, will join the 6th global forum of Vietnamese young intellectuals, slated for July 19-21, heard a press briefing in Hanoi on July 14.

The delegation includes professors, associate professors, and doctors in cutting-edge fields such as AI, nuclear physics, medical technology, green economy, digital transformation, and more. Read full story

- Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 officially kicked off on July 14 in Ho Chi Minh City, marking the first day of a two-week journey across multiple provinces, aimed at connecting young overseas Vietnamese with their homeland through cultural, historical, and community activities.

This year’s camp, themed “Together, We Write the Next Chapter of Peace”, brings together over 100 young Vietnamese expatriates from 31 countries and territories. On the opening day, participants visited key historical landmarks, including offering incense at the Ho Chi Minh Statue, Nha Rong Wharf, where President Ho Chi Minh departed in 1911 on his quest for national salvation, and the Thong Nhat Hall. - The "Rencontres du Vietnam" association and the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) on July 14 opened the SAGI 2025 Summer School in Quy Nhon Nam ward in the central province of Gia Lai, aiming to develop young human resources in the field of astrophysics in Vietnam.

The two-week programme gathers nearly 40 scientists, young researchers, PhD students, engineers, technicians, and students from five countries. Read full story

- Vietnam is aiming to export cashews worth 4.5 billion USD in 2025, up 2.7% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. To hit this target, the sector must generate around 2.2 billion USD in the second half.

Figures from the first six months show cashew exports reached 346,800 tonnes, earning 2.36 billion USD, a drop of 2.7% in volume but a surge of 20.4% in value annually. The rise was largely attributed to a significant increase in export prices, which helped offset lower shipment volumes. Read full story

- The northern port city of Hai Phong expects a strong wave of investment from APEC economies as it is going to host the third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III) from July 15-18, said Le Trung Kien, head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority.

Speaking at a press conference on July 14 about the upcoming investment promotion conference, themed “Hai Phong – A Strategic Destination in the New Era”, Kien announced that the conference will take place on the afternoon of July 15 as part of the ABAC III. Read full story

- The 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III tournament began on July 14 in the northern province of Bac Ninh, drawing nearly 50 players, coaches, and team members from nine countries vying for three promotion spots to Group II in 2026.

Co-hosted by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF), the International Tennis Federation, and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event runs through July 19 and pulled in nearly 1,000 spectators to its opening ceremony. Read full story./.

The patrol was carried out in two time frames, lasting a total of seven hours. During the operation, both sides deployed three working teams with 48 officers and soldiers, used six vehicles, held 12 on-site meetings, distributed 300 information leaflets, provided outreach to 300 border residents, and patrolled a total distance of 150 km.
