- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam delivered a speech with a powerful and comprehensive message about strengthening multilateralism, acting together to build a peaceful, stable, prosperous and sustainable future for all citizens at the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)’s 79th session in New York on September 24 (local time).

The event, themed “Leaving no one behind: Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and humanity for today and future generations”, drew 155 heads of state and government from UN member countries, along with leaders from global and regional organisations. - Party General Secretary and State President To Lam met with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah in New York on September 24 (local time), on the sidelines of the UN Summit of the Future and the High-Level General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly’s 79th session.

Meeting the Bulgarian President, Lam affirmed that Vietnam always values and wishes to further strengthen its multifaceted cooperation with Bulgaria. - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam received Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva in New York on September 24.

The reception took place within the framework of the top Vietnamese leader’s trip to the US to attend the UN Summit of the Future and the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79). Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh examined the Long Thanh International Airport project in the southern province of Dong Nai on September 24, requesting the launch of a 450-day emulation campaign to basically complete this key facility by the end of 2025.

The Long Thanh airport project has total investment of more than 16 billion USD and is implemented in three phases. The first phase, with an investment of over 5.4 billion USD, features one runway and one passenger terminal, and is capable of serving 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo per year. It is expected to be put into use in 2026. Read full story

- The Vietnamese Party, State and people always consider the consolidation and development of relations with China as a strategic choice and leading priority in the country’s foreign policy, and want to join hands with China to develop the ties in a more stable, sustainable and healthier manner, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has said.

Phoc made the statement while holding talks with Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang on the sidelines of the 21st China – ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China – ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on September 24. Read full story

- Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc highlighted four priorities of the China - ASEAN cooperation for stable, sustainable, and long-term growth while addressing the opening ceremony of the 21st China - ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China - ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning city, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on September 24.

In his remarks, Phoc affirmed that as an active and responsible member of ASEAN and a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner of China, Vietnam has joined hands with other ASEAN countries to coordinate closely with China and partners to promote new growth drivers and make practical contributions to the ASEAN - China comprehensive strategic partnership. - A delegation of the State Audit Office of Vietnam led by Deputy Auditor General Bui Quoc Dung is taking part in the 16th Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), which opened in New Delhi on September 24.

- A hybrid forum to foster economic and trade exchange between Vietnamese enterprises and those in France’s Aix - Marseille Provence metropolitan area was held in Marseille city on September 23.

At the event, which was organised by the Aix - Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in collaboration with Honorary Consul in Marseille Nguyen Cong Tot and the Vietnamese Trade Office in France, the Vietnamese business finance alliance expressed its hope to promote equal and win-win cooperation with French partners towards a long-term and sustainable partnership, adding the alliance is considering specific projects that Vietnamese firms could land investment in France in the coming time./. Ho Chi Minh City, EU boast ample room for sustainable development cooperation

Since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1990, Vietnam and the EU have deepened the bilateral ties into one of the bloc’s most dynamic and in-depth partnerships with an ASEAN member, Ha noted, adding that the relationship entered a new chapter in January when the President of European Council’s visit upgraded it to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Vietnam ready to strengthen BRICS connection with Asia-Pacific

Hang called on countries to act responsibly in accordance with international law and the UN Charter; respect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of states; refrain from using or threatening to use force; and settle disputes peacefully through dialogue. She also underscored the importance of ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation through straits in line with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam–DPRK relations

Visitors at the exhibition were moved by historical photographs dating back nearly 70 years, including images of the founding leader of the DPRK Kim Il Sung personally welcoming President Ho Chi Minh and a CPV delegation at Pyongyang’s Sunan International Airport during their visit to the DPRK from July 8–12, 1957. In return, the DPRK leader paid an official visit to Vietnam from November 27 to December 3, 1958.

Cao Bang, China’s Baise city eye to boost all-around cooperation

Ho Chi Minh City, Vientiane strengthen cooperation for 2026–2030
