- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam delivered a speech with a powerful and comprehensive message about strengthening multilateralism, acting together to build a peaceful, stable, prosperous and sustainable future for all citizens at the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)’s 79th session in New York on September 24 (local time).
The event, themed “Leaving no one behind: Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and humanity for today and future generations”, drew 155 heads of state and government from UN member countries, along with leaders from global and regional organisations. Read full story
- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam met with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah in New York on September 24 (local time), on the sidelines of the UN Summit of the Future and the High-Level General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly’s 79th session.
Meeting the Bulgarian President, Lam affirmed that Vietnam always values and wishes to further strengthen its multifaceted cooperation with Bulgaria. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh examined the Long Thanh International Airport project in the southern province of Dong Nai on September 24, requesting the launch of a 450-day emulation campaign to basically complete this key facility by the end of 2025.
The Long Thanh airport project has total investment of more than 16 billion USD and is implemented in three phases. The first phase, with an investment of over 5.4 billion USD, features one runway and one passenger terminal, and is capable of serving 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo per year. - A delegation of the State Audit Office of Vietnam led by Deputy Auditor General Bui Quoc Dung is taking part in the 16th Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), which opened in New Delhi on September 24.
