Hanoi (VNA) –
Terrorism remains a threat in Myanmar’s Rakhine State and could cause grave consequences for the region, Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi said in a lecture in Singapore on August 21.

The danger of terrorist activities, which was the initial cause of events leading to the humanitarian crisis in Rakhine, remains real and present today, she said.

Unless this security challenge is addressed, it could cause serious consequences, not just for Myanmar but also for other countries in the region and beyond, the State Counsellor stressed.-VNA
