NA Chairwoman begins official visit to Kazakhstan

Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan left the Russian city of Saint Petersburg on October 16 for the Republic of Kazakhstan, beginning her official visit to the country.

Hanoi (VNA) –
Chairwoman of the National Assemblyof Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan left the Russian city of Saint Petersburg on October 16 for theRepublic of Kazakhstan, beginning her official visit to the country.

The visit is being made at the invitation of Chairman of theSenate of the Parliament Kassym Zhomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Mazhilis(lower house) of the Parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin.

The Vietnamese top legislator earlier had a series ofactivities at the 137th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-137) held in SaintPetersburg.

Vietnam and Kazakhstan are members of the Vietnam-EurasianFree Trade Agreement which came into force in October 2016. 

The two countries have signed cooperation agreements ineconomy, trade and investment promotion, along with a number of memoranda ofunderstanding.

The Vietnameseand Kazakh legislative bodies have also maintained collaboration, both bilaterallyand multilaterally.

The officialvisit to Kazakhstan by Chairwoman Ngan is expected to foster the bilateralpartnership in economy, trade, investment, energy and culture-education.

During thevisit, the two sides will discuss measures to optimise the Vietnam-EurasianFree Trade Agreement and step up collaboration in legislative activities.-VNA

NA Standing Committee inspects election preparations in Ca Mau

In Ca Mau, 13 candidates have been introduced for the National Assembly, 73 for the provincial People’s Council, and 1,469 for commune-level People’s Councils. The provincial election committee has designated five NA constituencies and 18 constituencies for People’s Councils at provincial and commune levels.

National Assembly Standing Committee convenes 53rd session

NA Chairman Man said the 53rd session will review and approve two resolutions on specific matters relating to the organisational structure and the contingent of prosecutors of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, as well as consider the NA’s people's aspiration report in December 2025.
