Nghe An (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man offered flowers and incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at Chung Son Temple and the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site in the central province of Nghe An on February 28.

At Chung Son Temple, which is dedicated to the late leader's ancestors, Chairman Man, who is also head of the National Election Council, and his entourage expressed profound gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and his family.

At the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site, the delegation paid solemn tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, a great leader of the Party and people, a hero of national liberation, and the one who laid the foundation for the Vietnamese NA and affirmed the role of the supreme body of State power throughout his life-long career dedicated to the nation.

They pledged to devote all efforts to strengthening solidarity, renovating the NA’s mindset and operations, improving legislative quality, enhancing supreme supervision, and making timely decisions on major national issues. He stressed the goal of building an increasingly professional, modern, democratic and transparent legislature, contributing to the realisation of the aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam in the new era.

In the immediate term, efforts will focus on successfully organising the election of deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in accordance with the law, ensuring democracy, fairness and transparency, he added.

Meeting with staff of the relic site, Chairman Man urged continuing the preservation of its historical and cultural values, enhancing research and collection of materials and artefacts, and further applying technology to exhibitions and presentation to better serve visitors.

He also emphasised maintaining a green, clean and dignified environment befitting its status as a special national relic site and a key venue for educating younger generations on patriotism and revolutionary tradition./.

16th NA reviews amendments to four tax-related laws on April 21
