Hanoi (VNA) - National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu hosted a reception for a visiting delegation from the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) led by its General Secretary An Yuejun in Hanoi on March 13.
During the reception, the Vietnamese legislator congratulated the Chinese Party, State and people on great achievements in comprehensive reform in recent times, expressing his belief that the delegation’s visit will contribute to strengthening the friendship between the Vietnam Peace Committee and the CPAPD in particular and between the two countries’ Parties and States.
The Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to and want to reinforce and enhance the traditional relationship and comprehensive strategic cooperation with their Chinese counterparts, Luu stressed.
He hoped the Vietnam Peace Committee and the CPAPD will promote practical cooperation through specific activities, for peace, stability and neighbourliness between the two countries.
Luu called on the two sides to boost ties to jointly build a peaceful and stable environment, and actively cooperate at international and multilateral forums, thus contributing to regional and global peaceful movements.
For his part, An Yuejun congratulated Vietnam on achievements in many fields and increasing position of the country in the international arena.
While appreciating the bilateral relations between Vietnam and China in recent times, he said he hopes the Vietnam Peace Committee and the CPAPD will continue to have practical activities, contributing to further bolstering friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples.-VNA
