Hanoi (VNA) – The Nam Can Tho University in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho has proposed to develop a university-urban complex with a total investment of 7 trillion VND (304.7 million USD) in Cai Rang district.

The municipal Department of Construction has been tasked with coordinating with relevant agencies to study the proposal.

The university’s proposal, submitted to the municipal People’s Committee on June 21, envisaged a complex on an area of 100 ha, which will include a campus, dormitories, a high-tech centre meeting regional and international standard, along with a system of schools from kindergarten to high school levels, a vocational training centre, a digital library, and a software production centre. 

The complex will also feature an ecological urban area, a hospital, an opera house, a multifunctional sports centre, a shopping centre, restaurants and hotels, and a pharmaceutical production area.

Nam Can Tho University is a private university based in Ninh Kieu district. It has invested in building training facilities, including a hospital in Nam Can Tho residential area with a total budget of 800 billion VND./.
