National precious objects announced

MIG-21 aircraft No 4324 and a strategic map used in the “Ho Chi Minhcampaign” were announced as national precious objects at a ceremonyjointly held by General Political Department of the Vietnam People’sArmy and the Vietnam Military Museum in Hanoi on March 10.

In thewar against the US, the jet fighter made 69 flights, faced the enemy 22times and fired 16 times. In 1967 alone, nine pilots of the VietnamPeople’s Air Force flew the jet fighter and shot down 14 USaircraft.

The military strategic map entitle d“Ho Chi MinhCampaign’s Determination” was completed on April 21, 1975. The campaignled to the liberation of South Vietnam and the country’s reunificationon April 30, 1975.

The aircraft and map are among 12 newly-recognised national objects on display at the Vietnam Military Museum in Hanoi./.
