Yen Bai receives 36 billion VND to eradicate substandard housing

In 2025, Yen Bai aims to eliminate temporary houses for 2,208 families, including the construction of 1,815 new homes and the renovation of 393 existing ones, with total funding estimated at over 120 billion VND.

Yen Bai (VNA) – The northern mountainous province of Yen Bai has received 36 billion VND (nearly 1.4 million USD) from the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) to support its 2025 housing initiative.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh said on April 2 that between 2016 and 2020, nearly 9,000 homes were built or repaired for impoverished and near-poor households in the province. From 2021 to 2024, an additional 7,427 houses were constructed.

For 2025, Yen Bai aims to eliminate temporary houses for 2,208 families, including the construction of 1,815 new homes and the renovation of 393 existing ones, with total funding estimated at over 120 billion VND. The province is targeting full completion by the end of August 2025.

Currently, construction on 2,087 houses has been underway, achieving 94.5% of the planned target, with 601 homes already completed./.
