Nghe An (VNA) – Military forces in the central province of Nghe An on April 3 successfully disposed of a wartime bomb weighing over 226kg, whose detonator was still intact.
Previously, a man in My Son commune, Do Luong district discovered a metal object resembling a bomb about 4 metres underground while he was using an excavator to level the ground for construction. Immediately, the incident was reported to local authorities.
The communal Military Command swiftly deployed forces to cordon off the area, and organised round-the-clock patrols, and reported to the Do Luong district Military Command.
The bomb was identified as a MK-82, measuring 27cm in diameter and 155cm in length. It was then transported to another area for safe disposal./.
