About 80 paintings by Vietnamese and Thai painters are on display at the Silom Galleria in Bangkok, Thailand, to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries’ diplomatic ties (August 6).

Lacquer, oil, water-colour and pencil paintings depict Hanoi's Old Quarter, girls wearing traditional long dresses (Ao Dai), spring time, traditional Lunar New Year’s celebrations, daily life in Hanoi, portraits of late President Ho Chi Minh, the King of Thailand, and pagodas in Thailand.

Thai painter Dinhin Rakpong Asoke said he was very impressed by the girls in Hanoi and he has produced many pictures of them.

At the exhibition, he introduced a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, who brought independence and freedom to the nation.
