Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 23 for Wang Jiarui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
The Party chief hailed the visit’s significance to bilateral ties between the two Parties and two countries, especially at a time when they are celebrating the 65 th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The Vietnamese Party, State and people continually value the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Chinese counterparts, he stated.
He suggested both countries actively work to realise their leaders’ common perceptions, facilitate high-level exchanges, foster political trust and practical cooperation in various domains, and gradually settle existing problems for the interests of the two peoples and for peace and stability in the region.
Wang Jiarui, who is also head of the Chinese Party Central Committee’s International Department, updated his host about China’s latest developments and the cooperative ties between the International Department and the Vietnamese Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.
He stated that the Chinese Party and State attach importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam and want to work with Vietnam to further cultivate the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for more substantive results.
Earlier the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held talks with the Chinese official on measures to bolster bilateral ties in the time ahead.
Minh assured his guest that Vietnam is ready to strengthen political links with China, including making thorough preparations for high-level visits and exchanges as well as promoting practical progress in areas of collaboration.
Wang said senior officials of the two Parties and countries have made mutual visits over the past year while cooperative ties between the two sides’ ministries, sectors and localities saw good growth, which manifesting the stable and healthy development of China-Vietnam relationship.
He affirmed that his visit is to further specify common perceptions reached by the two countries’ leaders.
The same day, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan held a working session with the Chinese delegation.
Both sides discussed specific measures to effectively materialise agreements reached by the two Parties and countries, especially those reached during the Vietnamese Party chief’s recent visit to China, with a view to developing a healthy, stable and pragmatic ties between the two nations.-VNA
