Vientiane (VNA) - Politburo member and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Quoc Vuong had a meeting on May 24 with Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotou who lauded the outcomes of cooperation between the two inspection bodies over recent years.

The Lao top legislator said she hopes that the two Party inspection bodies will continue to coordinate closely and share information on Party building, while assisting each other to successfully realise resolutions released at each Party’s national congress.

For his part, Vuong, who is on a three-day visit to Laos until May 26, briefed his host on the outcomes of talks between the two Party inspection commissions, as well as future partnership orientations between the two sides.

Praising the consideration and support of the two National Assemblies for the two inspection agencies, Vuong said he hopes that both the law-making bodies will continue creating favourable conditions for the agencies in fulfilling their tasks.

Earlier the same day, Vuong and the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission delegation had talks with their Lao partners led by Bounthong Chitmany, Politburo member, Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party’s Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and Inspector General.

Bounthong Chitmany, who is also head of the Central Anti-Corruption Committee, spoke highly of the Vietnamese delegation’s visit which he believes will contribute to strengthening the Laos-Vietnam special ties.

The two sides reviewed their partnership achievements in recent years, while discussing ways to further the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation in the future, especially in enhancing their capacity in inspecting and monitoring anti-corruption work.

After the talks, Vuong and Bounthong Chitmany signed a cooperation agreement between the two inspection bodies for the 2016-2021 period.-VNA
