Phu Tho (VNA) – The Party Committee of the northern midland province of Phu Tho recently held its 17th conference, outlining various measures to concretise the set socio-economic development goals in the last three months of the year.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Minh Chau ordered branches, sectors, and localities to focus on Typhoon Yagi relief work, emphasising the need to enhance agricultural production linkage, restore production, ensure environmental hygiene, and decontaminate flooded areas.

Investment projects must be carried out on schedule while the disbursement of public capital must be accelerated, he stressed, asking competent sides to drastically remove bottlenecks in site clearance and compensation work.

He also ordered local officials to direct the arrangement of communal-level administrative units of Viet Tri city and Cam Khe and Doan Hung districts after getting approval from the National Assembly Standing Committee. Furthermore, they should study a plan on the arrangement and merger of residential areas across the province.

According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Trong Tan, the province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first nine months of this year was estimated to grow 9.56% year-on-year. Total state budget collection was more than 5.89 trillion VND (231.8 million USD), or 92.2% of the projection for the whole year.

During the nine-month span, Phu Tho witnessed improvements in its business climate as well as vibrant socio-cultural activities.

Typhoon Yagi wrecked damages worth nearly 1.6 trillion VND to the province./.
