This is the first time Vietnam takes part in the G-20Summit and especially as Chair of the Association of the Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN).
Representing Vietnam andASEAN, PM Dung will join all discussions on global economic issues andhold bilateral meetings with several countries’ leaders on the sidelinesof the summit.
Dung’s presence at the summit willreaffirm ASEAN and Vietnam ’s role in the international community andboost relations between Vietnam and G-20 members, especially withits priority partners.
The G-20 Summit takes placein the circumstance that the world economy is recovering faster thanexpected. However, big challenges - rising government debts in most ofthe large economies, serious unemployment in many countries,unsustainable development and surging inflation in emerging economies -are still ahead.
In that context, the summit willfocus its discussions on the implementation of recommendations andresolutions approved in G-20 to ensure sustainable recovery anddevelopment of the world economy.
Restructuring of theeconomy for growth in the long term and prevention of systematicalrisks, promotion of trade liberalisation, further reform of regional andinternational monetary and financial institutions are put high on thesummit agenda./.
