Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucattended a gathering in Hanoi on September 22 marking the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam military school.

Speaking at the event, PM Phuc hailed generations of young Vietnamesearmy officers for their contributions to the struggle against French andAmerican invaders and the national reunification.

He stressed that the Party and State always pay attention togenerations of young army officers, and wished that they would follow theexample of President Ho Chi Minh and make further contributions to nationaldevelopment at present.

As directed by President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giapsigned a decision in May 1949 on the establishment of the Vietnamese militaryschool under the auspices of the Department of Military Training, an unit ofthe General Staff of Vietnam People’s Army.

Many military schools then were founded in military regionsacross the country, helping with training talented experts and leaders from thecentral to local levels./.
