Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Taskent on themorning of Oct. 2, beginning his three-day official visit toUzbekistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Welcoming PM Dung and the high-ranking delegation ofthe Vietnamese Government, Uzbekistani Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyevexpressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people’s undauntedness andresilience during their past struggle for national independence andunification.
Having spoken highly of Vietnam ’srenewal achievements, the Uzbekistani PM affirmed that he will do hisutmost to foster the traditional friendship and cooperation between thetwo countries in all aspects.
For his part, theVietnamese government leader said he is pleased to visit Uzbekistanfor the first time and see with his own eyes great achievements made bythe Uzbekistani people.
Later on the day, PM Dungvisited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with representatives of theVietnamese community in Uzbekistan . He also called at the Sergelitextile factory and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group(PetroVietnam) representative office in Central Asia .
As scheduled, PM Dung will hold talks with his Uzbekistanicounterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and meet with leaders of the hostcountry on Oct. 3 to discuss measures to boost economic, trade andinvestment cooperation, especially in the key fields of oil and gas, andagriculture./.
