President Nguyen Minh Triet received five newly-accredited ambassadors from Argentina , Thailand , Saudi Arabia , Spain and Austria on Aug. 18 in Hanoi , who each presented him with their credentials.

At separate receptions for each, President Triet spoke of making coordinated efforts to promote the exchange of high-level delegations as well as those from ministries, business sectors, and municipalities to fully exploit the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and their countries.

The ambassadors presenting themselves to the President were Alberto Jaime Kaminker of Argentina , Pisanu Chanvitan of Thailand , Saleh Bin Ahmed Hamid Sarhan of Saudi Arabia , Fernando Curcio Ruigomez of Spain and Georg Heindl of Austria .

With each ambassador, Triet also discussed bilateral ties and the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and the five other countries in economics, trade, investment, labour, healthcare and education among other fields. President Triet wished the ambassadors success during their terms of office in the country.

The five ambassadors spoke highly of Vietnam ’s socio-economic achievements in the context of the global financial crisis and affirmed they would do their best to fulfil their tasks and contribute to expanding friendship and cooperation between their countries and Vietnam./.
