Publications mark 65th anniversary of Vietnam Peace Committee

Special publications highlighting the foundation and development of the Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC) were introduced to public in Hanoi on November 7.

Hanoi (VNA) - Special publications highlighting the foundation and development of the Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC) were introduced to public in Hanoi on November 7.

The printed material comprise of a book tiled “65 years of history of the Vietnam Peace Committee” and a poetry collection “Singing for Peace”.

The book features late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology of peace as well as the inception, activities and development of the Vietnam Peace Committee at localities.

It also highlights the significant contributions of the VPC to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam, the relations between peace organisations, and outstanding figures of the VPC through periods of history.

Meanwhile, the poetry collection, published by the VPC and the Vietnam Union of Literature and Art Associations, entails more than 200 poems composed by over 100 domestic and foreign poets, praising aspirations for peace, love, happiness, and prosperity.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Vice President cum Secretary General of the VPC Nguyen Thi Hoang Van said over the past 65 years, the VPC has reinforced its organisation, activities, and increased membership to obtain the consensus and assistance of friends around the world in the cause of national construction, reunification, and defence.

The committee’s efforts have also actively contributed to the world people’s movements for peace, independence, democracy and social progress, she added.

National Assembly Vice Chairman and President of the VPC Uong Chu Luu highlighted the significant role of the committee in calling for peace lovers around the globe to strengthen solidarity with and support for Vietnam.-VNA

Vietnam’s digital map updates 34 provincial-level administrative units

An 1:1,000,000-scale administrative map of Vietnam online and in digital *.pdf format will be released once the National Assembly’s Resolution on the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units in 2025 takes effect in oder to promptly support the Prime Minister’s direction and administration, support state management by ministries, sectors, and localities; and meet requirements of organisations and individuals.

Japanese veteran journalist praises Vietnamese press’ progress

Kitagawa was first introduced to Vietnamese media in late 1973, when he arrived in Hanoi to study the Vietnamese language at the University of Hanoi.
