Hoi An ancient town in central Vietnam is becoming the focus of the world after it topped the list of 15 best cities in the world in a recent vote of the US travel magazine Travel & Leisure.
Numerous activities will take place in central Quang Nam province to celebrate the 20th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of the ancient town of Hoi Ann and My Son Sanctuary as world heritage sites, the 10th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of Cu Lao Cham as a world biosphere reserve.
The ancient city of Hoi An kicked off the second Hoi An lantern festival at Marktplatz Square in Wernigerode, its German twin town, on August 24 to mark the 5th anniversary of cooperation between the two cities.
