Quang Ngai (VNA) - The central province of Quang Ngai will advance into a new development phase with the motto of uniting strengths to shape the future, establishing itself as a key driver of socio-economic development in the central region, according to Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ho Van Nien.

As the 14th National Party Congress underscores the need for rapid yet sustainable growth, with science and technology, innovation and digital transformation serving as core drivers, the province is renewing leadership methods and implementation approaches for more effective governance and stronger social consensus, he said.

Nien highlighted people as the decisive factor in development, noting that Quang Ngai is prioritising the building of a capable, responsible and forward-thinking contingent of officials, particularly those in leadership and management roles.

Efforts are also underway to streamline the organisational apparatus and restructure public service units, especially in education, health care and culture, to better meet public needs while fostering accountability and innovation, the official added.

He noted that the first provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term identified five key tasks and three strategic breakthroughs.

The key tasks include strengthening Party and political system building and rectification; accelerating industrial development, with a focus on foundational industries and the formation of a national oil refining, petrochemical and energy centre at the Dung Quat Economic Zone; advancing high-tech agriculture linked with processing and markets; promoting tourism development, including Ly Son as a marine and island tourism hub and Mang Den as an eco-tourism and resort centre; and effectively implementing sustainable poverty reduction to improve living standards.

Meanwhile, the three breakthrough tasks are developing modern and integrated infrastructure, particularly in transport, urban development and digital technology; improving the quality of human resources, especially key leaders at provincial and grassroots levels; and accelerating administrative reform, digital government development, innovation, digital transformation, competitiveness and international integration.

Nien expressed confidence that with strong unity, self-reliance and creativity, Quang Ngai’s officials, Party members and residents will seize emerging opportunities, promote the province’s cultural values and contribute to the country’s new era of development./.
