Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) is expected to make strategic decisions to enable breakthroughs in multiple areas, creating favourable conditions for localities such as the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai to fully harness their advantages in natural resources, climate, culture and people to achieve fast and sustainable growth as Vietnam enters a new era of development, according to a local official.

Talking to the press, Thai Dai Ngoc, Secretary of the Gia Lai provincial Party Committee and head of the province’s delegation to the congress, said Gia Lai anticipates that the strategic decisions to be made at the Congress will support breakthroughs in institutions, science – technology, innovation, digital transformation, high-quality human resources, and the development of a green and circular economy. They will also place stronger emphasis on culture and human development, identifying these as the spiritual foundation and an internal source of strength for national development.

According to Ngoc, the 14th National Congress will set major directions for fast and sustainable national development, with a focus on building a clean and strong political system, promoting the strength of great national solidarity, enhancing national defence and security safeguarding, and mobilising all resources for socio-economic development. These orientations provide an important foundation for the Party organisation and people of Gia Lai to step up efforts with greater determination during the 2025–2030 term.

The provincial Party Committee aims to turn Gia Lai into a hub for processing – manufacturing industry, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, services, tourism, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI). The province is expected to become a well-developed locality and, together with the rest of the country, confidently enter a new era of national advancement.

To achieve this goal, Gia Lai has identified key strategic breakthroughs requiring focused leadership and strong direction in the coming period.

The province will comprehensively implement the five growth pillars and four strategic breakthroughs targeted by the provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term, thereby creating momentum and a solid cornerstone for socio-economic development. Among these, the development of a green economy and a knowledge-based economy, along with innovation and digital transformation, are considered core factors for improving competitiveness and unlocking the full potential of local land, resources, and people.

Regarding infrastructure development, Gia Lai will prioritise completing the transport network, logistics facilities, energy systems, and information and communications technology infrastructure to strengthen linkages with other localities in and outside the region, and expand access to major markets. These are seen as key conditions for attracting investment, developing industry and services, and promoting high-tech agriculture.

Efforts will also continue to improve the investment environment towards greater transparency and openness to attract both domestic and foreign resources and enhance competitiveness.

Improving the quality of human resources has also been identified as a decisive factor for sustainable development, Ngoc said. Gia Lai will focus on training and upskilling the workforce, particularly manpower for high-tech industries and high-quality services, while promoting education and training programmes that meet businesses' needs.

The provincial Party leader expressed his belief that with a spirit of renewal, solidarity and strong determination, under the clear-sighted leadership of the Party Central Committee, Gia Lai will continue to capitalise on its potential and overcome challenges to realise its development aspirations.

He described solidarity and consensus within the Party, along with public support, as the decisive foundation for the province to successfully fulfil its development goals. This solidarity will generate collective strength, enabling Gia Lai to achieve breakthroughs and develop fast, sustainably, and harmoniously in the time ahead./.
