Reference exchange rate continues upward trend on December 20

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,324 VND/USD on December 20, up 20 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,324 VND/USD on December 20, up 20 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,540 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,108 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates saw a fluctuation.

At 8:37 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,219 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,519 VND/USD, unchanged from December 19.

Meanwhile, BIDV raised both rates by 21 VND, posting the buying rate at 25,240 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,540 VND/USD./.
