Reference exchange rate going up on December 19

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,304 VND/USD on December 19, up 26 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,304 VND/USD on December 19, up 26 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,519 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,089 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates saw a sharp increase.

At 8:31 am, both Vietcombank and BIDV listed the buying rate at 25,219 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,519 VND/USD, up 28 VND from December 18./.
