Reference exchange rate continues upward trend

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,335 VND/USD on December 31, up 8 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,335 VND/USD on December 31, up 8 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,552 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,118 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates saw increases.

At 8:27 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,251 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,551 VND/USD, both up 8 VND from December 30.

Meanwhile, BIDV raised the buying rate by 13 VND to 25,256 VND/USD, and the selling rate by 5 VND to 25,551 VND/USD./.

According to the department, 130 foreign suppliers, including Google and Facebook, have registered, declared, and paid taxes through the electronic tax portal for foreign providers, contributing a total of 2.91 trillion VND (114 million USD).
