Reference exchange rate down on February 14

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,562 VND/USD on February 14, down 10 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,562 VND/USD on February 14, down 10 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,790 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,334 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening-hour rates saw sharp decreases.

At 8:29am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,270 VND/USD and the selling rate 25,630 VND/USD, both down 110 VND from the February 13 morning session.

Meanwhile, BIDV also cut both rates by 150 VND, listing the buying rate at 25,230 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,590 VND/USD.
