Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank kept the daily reference exchange rate on September 17 unchanged from the last day of previous week at 22,690 VND/USD.

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,370 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,010 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks decreased compared to September 14.

 Vietcombank cut both rates by 15 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,210 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,290 VND/USD.

At BIDV, the buying rate is also being listed at 23,210 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,290 VND/USD, both down 10 VND from September 14.

However, the buying rate at Techcombank went up 5 VND to 23,210 VND/USD but the selling rate was reduced by 20 VND to 23,290 VND/USD.

Last week (September 10-14), the daily reference exchange rate was on the rising trend for the first two days but then turned around to decrease for the remaining of the week.

It opened the week at 22,694 VND/USD and ended at 22,690 VND/USD.

The rates listed at commercial banks also mostly followed the downward trend.-VNA
