Reference exchange rate up 26 VND on October 19

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchangerate for the US dollar at 23,663 VND/USD on October 19, up 26 VND from theprevious day.

With thecurrent trading band of  +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banksduring the day is 24,846 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,479 VND/USD.

Theopening-hour rates at many commercial banks increased.

At 8:35 am,BIDV listed the buying rate at 24,295 VND/USD and the selling rate at 24,575VND/USD, both up 15 VND from the end of October 18.

Meanwhile,Vietcombank kept both rates unchanged at 24,240 VND/USD (buying) and theselling rate at 24,550 VND/USD (selling)./.
