An Giang reviews fishing vessels to combat IUU fishing

To date, 9,789 fishing vessels in An Giang have been updated in the national VNFishbase database. Since early this year, inspection forces have carried out 138 vessel checks and detected 53 vessels showing signs of violations.

Tighter controls ensure full fishing vessel registration

The provincial fisheries sector has strictly supervised vessels operating in fishing grounds, ensuring that 100% of vessels are updated on the national VNFishbase database and 100% are equipped with VMS tracking devices as required.

An Giang aims to do away with substandard houses

As of May 13, An Giang broke ground on 2,957 homes under this programme, including 2,453 new constructions and 465 renovations. The province has already completed and delivered 2,482 homes to residents. As much as 215.5 billion VND (8.3 million USD) has been mobilised for the efforts.

Man caught red-handed transporting drugs from Cambodia

The border guard force of An Giang province in the Mekong Delta reported on January 3 that it had worked with relevant authorities to arrest a man involved in trafficking 22 kg of drugs from Cambodia into Vietnam.
