RoK Presidential Envoy comes to talk investment

The Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Choi Joong Kyung, has expressed his country’s special interest in industrial and technological cooperation with Vietnam.
The Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Choi JoongKyung, has expressed his country’s special interest in industrial andtechnological cooperation with Vietnam.

Choi, whois RoK Minister of Knowledge Economy, showed the interest during hismeeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on February 25.

He said the RoK will devise plans to encourage young Vietnamese to study technology in the East Asian nation.

PM Dung affirmed that Vietnam is looking forward to strongercooperation with the RoK in the mentioned areas. He urged relevantagencies of both countries to start talking on the application of RoK’s “Technology Park ” model in Vietnam .

The RoKminister also met with Cabinet Minister and Chairman of the GovernmentOffice Nguyen Xuan Phuc the same day. He proposed that the two countriesshould intensify exchange of information in order to reach agreementsand work out concrete projects of cooperation.

Forhis part, the host minister asked for RoK’s further assistance inhigh-quality human resource development, transfer of technologicaladvances and stronger cooperation in information technology, especiallythe Government e-database project that the two countries have signed.

The RoK is a leading investment partner in Vietnam . The two Asiannations have similar populations of overseas communities in eachother’s country, estimated at 100,000. These communities are said toplay a role as a bridge of friendship to promote economic cooperation,cultural exchange and mutual understanding and trust./.
