Speaking at the awarding ceremony in Hanoi on September 9, Hong saidthe order was given in recognition of Choi’s significant contributionsto promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries’people, especially in cultural exchange, education, investment-economicsand charity.
KOVIFA’s President said he is honoured toreceive the noble award, adding that he will do his best to furtherenhance the friendship between the two countries in the coming time.
Since KOVIFA was established 12 years ago, Choi has voluntarilyprovided financial assistance to the association. Since he was electedas its President in 2009, KOVIFA’s activities have seen practicaldevelopments with programmes to support Vietnamese people living andworking in the RoK and RoK-Vietnam families in the country, andscholarships to Vietnamese students.
In addition, he has alsomade great contributions to boosting investment cooperation betweenVietnam and the RoK through calling on RoK enterprises to invest in theSoutheast Asian nation.-VNA
