Phnom Penh (VNA) – The King TechnologiesCo. Ltd. (OpenNet) and the human resource development fund for the Vietnamesecommunity in Cambodia signed an agreement in Phnom Penh on October 28 toprovide scholarships for Cambodian students of Vietnamese origin who arestudying in Vietnamese universities.
Accordingly, OpenNet willoffer 10 scholarships, each worth 160 USD, to disadvantaged Vietnamese-Cambodianstudents in Vietnam each month. The scholarships will be sent to them via thefund.
Speaking at the signingceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang hailed OpenNet’s effortfor the cause of education and training for the Vietnamese community inCambodia, especially its commitment to offer stable jobs to these students whenthey return to Cambodia after graduation.
The Vietnamese Embassy willdirect the fund to work closely to offer the best practical benefits tostudents, he said.
Chairman of theKhmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia Sym Chi said over 100 Vietnamese-Cambodiangraduates have so far earned stable jobs in Cambodia after they graduated from Vietnamese universities./.
