Wushu artist Pham Quoc Khanh brought the 5th gold medal for the Vietnamese Wushu team in the final man’s gunshu on December 10, helping them surpassing their set target.

Earlier on December 9, Khanh bagged a bronze medal in Nandao event.

Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sport and Toursim Hoang Tuan Anh, who was in Wunna Theikdi sports centre to watch the performance of the wushu team, was invited by the host country to award the honour to medallist Khanh.

Talking to reporters, Minister Tuan Anh encouraged the Vietnamese athletes to be confident and actively participate in the regional playground.

He said he hopes them will stay strong and achieve more success in the time ahead.

Vietnamese wushu artists had an impressive performance at the on-going regional competition. With five gold medals, the country’s Wushu team completed its target of two to three gold medals.

Vietnam set a goal of gaining at least 70 gold medals at the 27th SEA Games, which will last until December 22.-VNA
