Hanoi (VNA) – A seminar on theapplication of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the operation of small- andmedium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was held in Hanoi on April 11.
The event drew experts in economy, science andtechnology, and nearly 100 businesspeople active in various fields.
It is part of a project to enhancecompetitiveness for businesses through innovation and technological reform inthe context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) implemented bythe Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
Vice Chairman of the VCCI Hoang Quang Phong saidthe workshop aims to help the Vietnamese business community realise thepotential of the IoT and its application in reality.
It also opens up opportunities for businesses toaccess information technology to optimise their operation and improve workingefficiency to increase revenues and profits, he added.
Participants were introduced with IoT projectsin agriculture, environmental monitoring, smart cities, and smart production.
Representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology also briefed them onincentive policies aimed at pushing up the development of IoT at statemanagement offices which are expected to bring about major benefits, especiallyin the simplification of administrative procedures, consolidating databases andmanaging businesses. -VNA
