Singapore's police have expressed growing concern over the rise in drunk driving accidents, with 142 incidents reported in the first 10 months, including 10 fatalities.

Hanoi (VNA) – Singapore's police have expressed growing concern over the rise in drunk driving accidents, with 142 incidents reported in the first 10 months, including 10 fatalities.

To address this issue, the authorities launched a two-day island-wide campaign targeting the violations. During a traffic checkpoint operation on the central expressway on December 21, police arrested 12 drivers, 11 of whom committed drunk driving offenses, while the remaining individual was caught driving without a valid license and insurance.

Last year, Singapore recorded 180 drunk driving cases, the highest number since 2014./.
