Singapore (VNA) – The Select Committee of the SingaporeanParliament on March 14 began a three-day meeting to discuss how to prevent online falsehoods.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Charles Chong said fakenews on the internet is being a global serious issue.

He stressed that all countries around the world, including Singapore, areforced to seek solutions to this problem, which is causing negative impacts forcountries in different forms.

The committee groups ten members who are officialsof the Singapore Government, including Law and Home Affairs Minister K.Shanmugam; Education Minister Ong Ye Kung; Senior Minister of State forCommunications and Information and Education Janil Putucheary; and otherparliamentarians. -VNA

A military helicopter participating in the search spotted a fragment believed to be an aircraft window in a forest on the slopes of Mount Bulusaraung.
